How to setup PPTP VPN on Linux

The following instructions demonstrate the process of VPN-connection setup via PPTP protocol on Linux Ubuntu system. Depending on the Linux distribution kit you are using there can be certain peculiarities in settings. If you have any problems with setup, please contact our technical support team.

Click on Network Connection icon, go to VPN Connections and select Configure VPN.

Click Add.

Choose a connection type Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) and click Create.

Insert connection data: To continue click Advanced.

Important Note: VPN servers list, your VPN username and password are in the file readme.txt (was sent to your email after ordering the subscription).

In appeared window set Use Point-to-Point encryption (MPPE), select security level 128-bit (most secure) and click OK.

To establish VPN-connection click on Network Connection Icon, go to VPN Connections and select newly created connection.

To setup the outgoing IP open the http://setup.securevpnconnect.net when VPN-connection is active. Select the IP address you need and click the green check mark. The address is changed instantly, and the next time you connect to the VPN, the previously set address will be used.

To break VPN-connection click on Network Connection Icon, go to VPN Connections and select Disconnect VPN.
